Who’s Zoë Kalen anyway?
A content creator, copywriter, storyteller, journalist, producer, and so on…
I have been making content and putting my creativity to work since I was very young. I posted my first YouTube video at 9 years old — a trailblazing talk show podcast between an oversized teddy bear and a training bra. I had a long stretch of the YouTuber life through my teens, before I decided to take storytelling a bit more serious and major in journalism at the University of Dayton.
I went around the block with my major, working at the campus newspaper, the university’s marketing department, and the Dayton Daily News all at the same time while earning my Master’s in communication and strategic public relations.
I did my time with national breaking news with Newsweek, put in my hours building out University of Dayton Magazine, and got down with my community for Dayton.com.
I really think I have done it all storytelling-wise, but there’s still so much to learn.
Now, I create content for Miami University. Check out my work and resumé!

The extras
My creative credit belongs my cats and Taylor Swift. They inspire it all, but here’s more about my life offline…
I am an expert crocheter. If you know me, your birthday or Christmas gift was probably handmade.
I am ride-or-die for Dallas Stars hockey. Bing Bong.
I love to cook, but more importantly, I love to eat. Anywhere I can find a sweet treat downtown or in OTR, I am there.
I love being the “cool aunt” to my nephews, who get spoiled with custom homemade birthday cakes every year.
